We will have soccer tryouts for our spring season on Tuesday the 14th of February after school at 3:45 pm on the field. Show up if you are interested; we will most likely only have two teams for the spring season, so be prepared to show us your best stuff.

Longfellow runners,

All on board! Sra Moppert and Coach B. started a running club about a month ago. We are now 31 strong, with some of us with perfect attendance, and some a little more spotty. We run/walk every Tuesday and Friday morning from 7:30 till 8:30 on our track. Coach applied for a grant at the beginning of the school year, and recently found out that the school was accepted to be part of Marathon Kids. We will have a kick off next week. Our goal is to run 1, 2, 3 and even 4 marathons during the entire school year. We are not running real marathons in one setting. We add our laps each week, until we run 26.2 miles, and we get prizes every time we complete a marathon. The first prize is a cool t-shirt, which says, you guessed it: "26.2"; the distance of a marathon.

We have also tied our running club to the Camino Real. We add all our laps each week and map it on the road from Mexico City to San Juan Pueblo,  (1600 miles). We are trying to go as far as possible. Our first stop is Guanajuato which is 230 miles from Mexico City. as of today we have ran/walked 145.5 miles as a group, so Guanajuato, here we come. We should be there by next week, and there on the road to Zacatecas. Please come and join us. The more the merrier.

Coach B.
